Annual reports in Estonia are compulsory even for dormant companies
For most companies the financial year in Estonia runs 01.01-31.12. After the financial year ends you have 6 months to file the report.
Why should you do it earlier? The accountants tend to have more time for it. A lot of companies leave it late so it can get really busy in May or June. So why not already start in January or February!
As stated, the annual report is compulsory for each year. There is an exception which allows for the first financial year to be longer - so if you start your company after the 1st of July 2024 then your first report is due only in 2026. of course you are welcome to file one before as well especially if you are seeking to pay dividends.
We see many companies being deleted from the registry because of unfiled annual reports. The court registry has the power to delete the company after they fail to comply with extended deadlines for the report. So if you are not mindful you will need to deal with the process of reinstating your company which can just create unnecessary hassle.
